  3. your photograph brought to me the following words:

    clutching light
    she runs through

    a thread of light
    passing through

    the waist
    of an hourglass.

i'm not sure what that means, but it's a beautiful picture.

  4. life is here, at least all of life that matters, this carrying of color into the dark ... this is very beautiful .... i can't say it strongly enough -- i want to lie down before this picture and wait for the grace to find the right words ...

  5. andreas, it means plenty. it is all of us in our moment, through and through and through. the hourglass could be a keyhole too, couldn't it?

james, words too plentiful, grace too great. it is a special spot, a departure from the trail i usually run, a child sized canyon through which my children can't help but run. they have ventured through this spot for six or seven years now. i stop to laugh. i see my son much younger toddling through not so successfully. there have been many mishaps here and many trips of splendor. i've a picture of my daughter nearby, four, with fistfuls of moss and a delirious grin on her face.
