bark and being

i feel a great deal of energy about me,
as though i am nothing but a seed
and i might, at any moment,
burst into life.

  2. conversely, i feel old sometimes when the train passes or as the crow lites the pine. and i feel i might disappear with the closing of an eye.

  3. ollie, as i was taking the photo i found i was watching the bark so intently that i missed what was in the background and so i learned that sometimes life bursts around the periphery with no thanks to me.:)

  4. Erin, it's so true that every moment seems to have this dual potential (for some of us at least) of bursting into life or disappearing silently and unnoticed as an eye closing. How sad, and at the same time, thrilling.
